Georgia football's 2025 season is off to an impressive start after the Bulldogs took down Marshall 45-7 in their season opener. While this game went about as good as anyone could have hoped, the Bulldogs were unable to escape without any key injuries impacting their team.
There were unfortunately three injuries that surfaced throughout this game that involved Georgia's starters, and Kirby Smart provided an update on all three of these players during his press conference after Saturday's win.

True freshman offensive lineman Juan Gaston got the start at right guard for Georgia on Saturday. This is the first time in over eight years that a true freshman started the first game of the sesaon at Georgia, so that immediately became one of the biggest storylines during this game.
Gaston unfortunately went down with an early injury that he did not return from.
"Don't know much. We took him to do an MRI, it looks like an ankle," Smart shared via 247sports.com. "We don't know if it's a high ankle or not in terms of that. We'll get him checked out."
Fellow offensive lineman Earnest Greene is also dealing with an injury as well, and Smart shared that Greene was unable to play because of stiffness in his back.
"Earnest (Greene) was doing a little bit of lower body stiffness and wasn't able to go," Smart continued. "So Bo jumped in there and did some good things."
Last but not least is starting corner Daylen Everette. Georgia fans had no idea Everette was dealing with an injury until Georgia's game against Marshall began and he wasn't on the field. Reports indicate that this injury took place during practice last week, but nothing speicific has been shared about his injury yet.
Unfortunately Smart shared absolutely nothing when it came to Everette's injury.
"Yeah, he's (Everette) injured," Smart said.
Georgia dealing with three injuries to their starters is about as bad as it gets this early in the season. Thankfully the Bulldogs have another easy opponent in Austin Peay up next, so this should give all three of these guys a chance to heal up before their SEC opener at Tennessee in two weeks.
That Tennessee game however is looking much scarier now after the Vols dominated Syracuse on Saturday, so Georgia will need to be as healthy as possible if they want to leave Tennessee with a win.
