The SEC will potentially face the most head coaching turnover they have ever seen this offseason. Florida moved on from Billy Napier last week and LSU has now followed suit by firing Brian Kelly late Sunday night. These are already two massive openings, and it's unlikely that it will stop there.

Auburn is continuing to be fed up with Hugh Freeze and could fire him this offseason. Lane Kiffin on the other hand won't be fired by Ole Miss, but a lot of analysts believe he will leave the Rebels for the opening at Florida or LSU. Then there is Texas who could have an opening as well as there have been reports that Steve Sarkisian may have some interest in moving to the NFL this offseason.
if all of these moves happen then there will not be a point in time that the SEC had less stability. But the conference can rest easy because Georgia, who is the school at the top, is as stable under Kirby Smart as they have ever been.
Georgia, Kirby Smart are saving the SEC
Smart and Georgia aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Bulldogs are the No. 1 program in the conference, and that is unlikely to change because of the stability they have with Smart in charge of their program.
As mentioned, there are countless programs in the SEC right now that are in a transitional phase. Big time programs like Florida, LSU, Texas, Ole Miss and Auburn could all be searching for a new head coach at the same time, and that hardly ever happens.
The other schools in the conference who won't be looking for a new head coach still don't stack up with Georgia and Smart either. Alabama has shown a lot of signs of not being in love with Kalen DeBoer until their most recent winning streak. All it could take is a few more bad lossess and the Crimson Tide could be ready to move on from him. Then there is Tennessee who is secure with Josh Heupel, but they have been unable to win anthing of significance under him.
The SEC will look very different next year compared to this year, but one thing will remain the same. Smart will still be running things in Athens and Georgia will be one of the best teams in the conference. And that stability is something the SEC needs during this time of complete uncertainty.
