Georgia was able to defeat Florida on Saturday in dramatic fashion as the Bulldogs came from behind to win 24-20. This win however do not come without some controversy.

With just over three minutes to play and Georgia leading 24-20, the Gators faced a key third down in their own territory. DJ Lagway threw a pass deep down field to a wide open receiver, but he under threw the pass and his receiver wasn’t able to haul it in. Florida fans however were extremely upset because it looked like their receiving might have come down with it, but after a lengthy review the call was upheld.

Two days later and Florida fans are continuing to complain about this call, and their frustrations likely will only get worse after hearing what Kirby Smart had to say.

"I saw a wide open guy," Smart said via 247sports.com. "We had busted coverage. So we got a guy that's supposed to be in the half. He got the wrong signal and played the wrong defense. We had nobody back there. We were insanely lucky that, number one, he didn't score. He didn't catch. I didn't see anything. I don't know. I can't tell you, man. That's what it is. That's their job."

Kirby Smart shuts Florida fans up with latest statement

Smart made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t think Florida caught that pass. And to make it even better, Florida’s interim head coach Billy Gonzales was quoted saying he didn’t think it was a catch either.

But this won’t stop Florida fans from complaining because they still think this was a catch and that they were cheated out of a chance to win this game. But the result of the play and game will not change no matter how much they complain.

Georgia marches on to the rest of their season sitting at 7-1 and having won five straight against Florida. The Gators season however is over and all that’s left for them to do is hope someone else is able to do the work for them and beat Georgia.
