Georgia football has a lot to be proud of after their 44-41 win against Tennessee. The Bulldogs trailed the Volunteers 21-7 very early in this game. All of the momentum was in favor of Tennessee and it looked like the Vols were finally going to beat Georgia after eight straight losses.

But then the second quarter happened.

Durkng the second quarter, Georgia's defense woke up and didn't give up a single point. This allowed Georgia's offense to find their rhythem and claw their way back into the game and give themselves a chance going into the second half. This team never gave up even when it looked like Tennessee was going to win multiple times, and that is the sign of a true champion.

Kirby Smart was asked during his postgame press conference what he learned about his team, and the fact that they never gave up is the one thing that stood out to him the most.

"I mean, they never say die," Smart shared via 247sports.com. "I mean, we told them coming in. It was going to  be blow by blow. How many could we take? Could we sustain? And could we keep throwing back? And we did, but we also cut it way too close. So we've got a chance to put somebody away, which I thought we did, we've got to do it."

Georgia proves they belong on the biggest stage

It was unclear how good this Georgia team actually was before the Tennessee game this weekend. The Bulldogs were yet to play any true competition, so it was impossible to get a good read on them. But now Georgia fans know how special of a team they are.

This team not only has one of the most talented rosters in the country, but they have the drive and attention to detail that could take them over the top this season.

They easily could have folded against Tennesseeand and moved on knowing that all of their goals would have still been in front of them, but that is not what happened. That responded to Tennessee's early blows, dished out a few of their own, and emerged victorius for the ninth year in a row against the Vols.

Georgia now enters their first bye week of the season before welcoming Alabama to Athens in two weeks.
