Georgia football was unfortunately not able to escape their victory over Marshall without a few injuries. Thankfully none of the injuries looked too serious in the moment, and that was something Kirby Smart just confirmed during his press conference on Tuesday.
Georgia football full injury report
OL Earnest Greene: "Hopeful to get back next week, but only time will tell," Smart shared via si.com.
CB Daylen Everette: "Ankle injury seems to be doing well, and he was able to run and do some things."
RB Roderick Robinson: "Dealing with a hamstring. Could have probably gone on Saturday, but we didn't want to press it."
OL Juan Gaston: "Hopeful to get back next week, but only time will tell."
P Brett Thorson: "Close to being cleared by the medical staff."
No reason to panic from Georgia's injury report
The good news for Georgia from this injury report is that there doesn't appear to be a significant injury that the Bulldogs are working through right now. Both Earnest Greene and Juan Gaston likely will be back this week against Austin Peay, so that is about as good of an injury update as anyone could expect days after their injuries took place.
On top of that, starting punter Brett Thorson is closing in on his return as well. In fact, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see him take the field for the first time this weekend against Austin Peay.
Then there is starting corner Daylen Everette who Georgia fans had no clue was hurt until Saturday's game against Marshall began. The above update about Everette makes it seem like he is close to a return as well, but it isn't guaranteed he will play against Austin Peay. Backup running back Roderick Robinson however does sound like he will be healthy and ready to go this Saturday.
The result of Georgia's game agsint Austin Peay this weekend is not in question. The Bulldogs will win this game very easily regardless of if these players play or not. So it may not be the worst idea in the world to give them some time off before Georgia's showdown with Tennessee in two weeks.
