Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has easily been the player talked about the most during the past couple weeks. His play has been solid at times, but he has been very inconsistent and not at the level that was expected of him heading into this season.

Thankfully Georgia football is still 6-1 and still has everything to play for in front of them. But there is no denying that improved play from Beck will take this team to another level.

During Kirby Smart's weekly press conference on Monday, he was asked what is wrong with his QB. And Smart gave the answer any good head coach would give when asked a question like that.

"I don't answer it because I don't think anything's wrong with him," Smart said via Dawgpost.com. "He hasn't played perfect, but nobody does. So, I'm very comfortable with where Carson is. And in terms of his leadership, his practice habits, the things we're asking him to do, I think he's doing a good job of those."

Smart immediately shut this question down because he doesn't feel that there is anything wrong with Beck. Smart does mention that he hasn't played perfect, which anyone would be able to tell you, but nobody has played perfect and nobody ever will either.

He then began talking about how comfortable he still is with Beck and how everything Beck is doing off the field is exactly what you would hope to see from him from a leadership standpoint. So even though his play hasn't quite been there recently, if he keeps doing what he's doing Smart is confident Beck will bounce back.

And to be fair, Beck doesn't really need to improve on a whole lot to get back to playing at an elite level. The big problem in his game recently are his turnovers. Beck has thrown five interceptions in his last two games, which is nowhere near good enough. But if he is able to clean that up then we will immediately see a vast improvment in his play.

Beck also needs some help from his wide receivers as well. That unit has had issues with dropping the ball recently, which isn't Beck's fault when he puts the ball on the money. However, these drops reflect poorly on Beck's stats which clouds our judgement of him.

Whether that is fair to Beck or not is another conversation, but if Georgia's wide receivers are able to improve and Beck is able to take better care of the ball, UGA's offense has a chance to be special the rest of the season.
