Georgia football was one of the most questioned teams on the recruiting trail just a few months ago. Before the June recruiting run Georgia went on, many college football fans and analysts questioned if Georgia would be able to continue to recruit at a high level in the NIL era. Some even went as far as to say that there was no chance Georgia could continue recruiting well like they had so far in the Kirby Smart era.

While Georgia fans always knew these questions were ridiculous, Smart and his staff shut everyone up who has ever doubted if they can continue to recruit at a high level or not.

Kirby Smart left no doubt after claims of bad recruiting

Georgia football just went on one of the most impressive recruiting runs that any program has ever been on in the history of college football. The month of June saw Georgia earn 18 commitments, with 16 of those commits coming in the 2026 recruiting class.

This run vaulted Georgia all the way up to the No. 1 recruiting class in the country before USC passed Georgia once again to take the No. 1 spot back.

On top of their impressive recruiting run in June, Georgia also earned a commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis back in May as well. And it doesn't appear UGA is done with five-star recruits this cycle as they continue to trend well with three other five-stars as well.

These accusations against Georgia and Smart were idiotic to begin with because UGA has found a lot of success both on the field and in recruiting during the NIL era so far. But after being doubted by many across the country, Smart didn't complain. He put his head down, got to work, and went on the best recruiting run college football has arguably ever seen.
