Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is up to no good again. Kiffin is known for being one of the most outspoken coaches in all of college football, but sometimes he gets caught saying something absolutely ridiculous. And the latest thing to come out of his mouth is as wild as it gets.
Kiffin was recently discussing how the Transfer Portal and NIL era have impacted college football, and he proclaimed that it has caused dynasties to no longer exist in the sport.
“In my opinion, the dynasties are over,” Kiffin shared via on3.com.
Kiffin however must have forgotten Georgia and Kirby Smart exist, because what is currently taking place in Athens is without a doubt the next college football dynasty.

Kiffin is correct that the Transfer Portal and NIL era have drastically changed the college football landscape. He’s also correct that it has made it far more difficult for dynasties in college football to exist, but Georgia is without a doubt in the middle of a dynasty right now.
The last four years have been as good as it can get for a college football program. Georgia not only won two National Championships three and four years ago, but they have remained at the top of the college football world since those titles. In 2023 Georgia went 13-1 and just barely missed the College Football Playoff before winning the SEC once again last year. Fast forward to this year and Georgia once again is in position to compete for and potentially win a National Championship and SEC title.
If that isn’t what a dynasty in college football looks like then who knows what would count in Kiffin’s eyes.
At the end of the day Kiffin isn’t the one who can decide if Georgia is a dynasty or not. UGA fans are more than happy with the success Georgia has found over the past half decade, so it shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks. But it’s hard to not imagine Kiffin might have said this on purpose to try and get under the skin of Georgia fans because he’s upset Ole Miss lost to UGA earlier this year.
