Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is the center of attention when it comes to SEC Commission Greg Sankey's recent announcement that he will be suspending head coaches if their players fake injuries. The Rebels are widely known as the team that has done this the most, so it is good timing for Georgia football ahead of their game this weekend.

But it appears Kiffin has found a new way to gain this competitive advantage. On Wednesday, Kiffin loaded up their injury report with 26 players. No, that is not a typo.

Sure this may have been a crazy thing to suggest that Kiffin and Ole Miss did this to gain a competitive advantage, but the Rebels’ updated injury report on Thursday may confirm this theory.

18 Ole Miss players see improvement in their injury status

In the span of one day, Ole Miss saw 18 of their 26 players improve on their injury report. This includes 11 players being taken off their report altogether.

One of two things happened here. Either Ole Miss has the best athletic training staff in the history of sports, or they put an excessive amount of players on their original report to try and gain a competitive advantage. No offense to the athletic training staff at Ole Miss, but it’s unlikely they’re the best staff of all time. So the ladder is the likely scenario that’s taking place.

Who knows if this was Kiffin’s goal or not, but if he’s willing to tell his player to fake an injury then surely he is willing to list an unnecessary amount of players on their injury report.

Thankfully this is something Kirby Smart and Georgia would never do. They’re more worried about getting better and winning on the field, not all this extra nonsense to try and gain an advantage that might not even accomplish anything.
