Georgia football is just a few days away from their College Football Playoff matchup against Ole Miss. As everyone knows the Rebels will be without their now former head coach Lane Kiffin who has moved on to LSU, but it goes without saying that he would still like to see his former team make a run at a National Championship.
LSU however isn't allowing him to coach the team throughout their playoff run, but that hasn't stopped him from offering them a piece of advice heading into this matchup.
"Georgia didn’t punt one time in the previous matchup and really drove the length of the field the whole day,” Kiffin said via si.com. ”So can Ole Miss calm down Georgia’s offense and contain the QB?”
Lane Kiffin is doing his part to help Ole Miss beat Georgia
Georgia's offense was unstoppable during their first matchup earlier this season against Ole Miss. And no, that isn't a figure of speech. Georgia won the game 43-35 and did so without having to punt the ball one time, so their offense quite literally was not stopped.
So in an effort to help the Ole Miss defense plan for this matchup, Kiffin was quoted saying that they need to do everything they can to slow down Georgia's offense while putting an extra emphasis on containing Gunner Stockton. Those two points were pretty obvious, but Kiffin wanted to make sure that his old team knew that this was the most important thing for them to focus on heading into this game.
Georgia is predicted to win by a touchdown according to Vegas oddsmakers, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is winning by at least one point. It will not be easy for them to do that, but Georgia should expect to win even with Kiffin offering some advice to his old team.
