Georgia football quarterback Gunner Stockton has received more hate than almost any player in the country. Maybe hate isn’t the right word to use, but nearly every college football fan and analyst outside of Athens is doubting Stockton entering the 2025 season.
Wile Stockton does need to prove himself on the field, doubting him simply because he is a first time starter isn’t fair to him. But knowing Stockton, this doubt will fuel him even more this offseason because he wants to do nothing more than prove everyone wrong.
So while everyone waits to see if Stockton proves the country wrong or not, Georgia fans just have to accept that people are going to doubt Stockton and be very vocal about it. But the latest batch of disrespect might just be the most random shot Stockton has taken so far this offseason.

Gunner Stockton nasty hit featured in CFB 26 trailer
EA Sports is releasing College Football 26 next month which is the second edition of their new college football video game. A trailer for this game was just released this week, and many teams throughout the country were featured in the video.
Stockton was featured in the trailer as well, which isn’t a surprise since he’s the likely starting quarterback for the No. 1 program in the country. But instead of showing a nice highlight of Stockton, they picked the moment where he was essentially knocked out cold at the end of the SEC Championship game against Texas.
This image is included in the social media post above, but at the very end of the game against Texas Stockton took a nasty hit near the end zone. In real time it looked like Stockton may have been knocked out, but regardless this was as big of a hit as any football player will ever take.
And for some reason EA Sports included this play in their trailer.
It’s unlikely EA Sports has an agenda against Georgia or Stockton, but it’s unfortunate this is the play they chose to use. So hopefully Stockton and Georgia have a great season this year, so EA Sports has no choice but to use a better play next summer when they are hyping up the third edition of this game.
