Georgia football is set to take on No. 7 Tennessee on Saturday in the biggest game of the season. The Bulldogs have had their fair share of massive games this year already, but this is by far the biggest because of what is on the line.

A loss in this game and Georgia can kiss their SEC championship and College Football Playoff hopes goodbye. But a win almost certainly guarantees their spot in the CFP with an outside shot at making it to Atlanta to play for an SEC title.

This game on Saturday has a chance to be another close game, which Georgia has become very familiar with. Experts are predicting that this game could go either way, but a lot of that depends on if star Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava will play or not.

Iamaleava suffered a concussion during Tennessee's win against Mississippi State last week, and his status for Saturday has been unknown throughout this entire week.

Fast forward to Thursday and CBS Sports has the latest update on Iamaleava's injury.

”While no one has confirmed to CBS Sports that he will 100% be available, sources have shared continued optimism that Iamaleava will play against the No. 12 Bulldogs,” Matt Zenitz said via cbssports.com. “Iamaleava, who entered concussion protocol after leaving Tennessee's game against Mississippi State last week, has progressed throughout the week, a good sign for the Vols in a game that has serious SEC Championship and College Football Playoff implications.”

Nico Iamaleava is expected to play against Georgia

As CBS Sports reporter Matt Zenitz stated, they are unable to confirm the official status of Iamaleava for Saturday's game. But their sources have told them that it is looking more and more likely that he will suit up and play against Georgia.

This is significant news because Iamaleava is one of the top QBs in the SEC. So far this season, he has completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,879 yards, 11 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

It goes without saying that Georgia would have stood a much better chance at winning this game if Iamaleava was sidelined with his injury. And while there is still a chance that happens, it appears it's more likely that he will be good to go by Saturday night.

Hopefully Kirby Smart has his defense ready to play, because if they don't show up Tennessee has the ability to score a lot of points on Saturday.
