It is still extremely early in the 2027 recruiting cycle, but Georgia has been making a lot of waves. The biggest news they have made so far this year is when they landed the No. 1 running back in the country in five-star Kemon Spell.

But Georgia appears to be closing in on yet another massive commitment as the latest crystal ball prediction in their favor tells an interesting story.

Georgia in pole position for elite in-state OT

Joshua Sam-Epelle is a four-star offensive tackle from Douglasville, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings he is the No. 70 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 8 offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 7 player from the Peach State.

Georgia has been the leader for Same-Epelle for a few months now. Last October a crystal ball prediction was placed in their favor by Georgia 247Sports writer Benjamin Wolk to win this recruitment. Ever since then there hasn't been any other updates though, but that changed on Feb. 9 when a new prediction was placed.

This prediction was also in favor of Georgia, but it came from a South Carolina writer. So it is extremely telling that a writer covering a completely different school likes Georgia's chances to land Sam-Epelle.

The fact that this writer covers South Carolina is extremely important thought. Sam-Epelle was thought to be leaning towards the Gamecocks all last summer, so this writer has been following his recruitment with a close eye for a long time. Georgia however hosted Sam-Epelle on a key visit last season and at that point his recruitment flipped in UGA's favor.

Sam-Epelle does not have a commitment date set yet, so anything is still possible. But at this point it would be very surprising if he doesn't end up a Georgia Bulldog.
