Georgia football and the rest of the college football world have officially made it to national signing day. This is always the most interesting day in recruiting because many players will sign with the schools they are committed to while some are still making their final decisions and even flipping to new schools at the last second.
Kirby Smart and Georgia are still aggressively pursuing one of the top ucommitted recruits in the country in five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry. Terry is a top 10 player in the country and an in-state recruit for Georgia, so it is very clear how big of a win this would be for Georgia if they are able to add Terry to their recruiting class.
So where does Georgia stand with Terry? All five crystal ball predictions on 247Sports are in Georgia's favor, but a late push from Alabama and Auburn is causing some concern. However, as of Monday, Terry has shut down his recruitment, so it seems like he has made his final decision. So what are the recruiting experts saying about this recruitment now?
Recruiting experts are still high on Georgia's chances
The first statement on Terry's recruitment comes from Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney.
"It’s still fully believed that Georgia will land the five-star defensive lineman from Manchester, Ga., after a strong push by Alabama and a late push by Auburn," Gorney said via uga.rivals.com. "The feeling has been Terry’s delay was because he wanted to have a big ceremony in his hometown to announce his decision as the Bulldogs look good here."
Rivals national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman is also very confident in Georgia's chances as well.
"Terry has been committed in-state to Georgia as well to USC – albeit short-lived," Spiegelman shared via uga.rivals.com. "Since reopening his recruitment ahead of his senior season, the No. 9 overall prospect has been focused on Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Auburn. Our prediction has remained on the Dawgs, who are intent to keep Terry in-state."
So there you have it, Georgia still looks like they are in a good place to win Terry's recruitment. While the early signing period does begin on Dec. 4, Terry has delayed his commitment announcement for Friday, Dec. 6. So Georgia fans are going to have to wait a couple more days to find out what Terry's decision is.
But as of today, it looks like Georgia fans can be hopeful that they will get good news from Terry on Friday.
