Former Georgia football quarterback Matthew Stafford knows what it takes to be successful at the highest level of football. That's why it was such a big deal when Stafford said he wants one of Georgia's current wide receivers with him and the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL right now.

Matthew Stafford wants Zachariah Branch in Los Angeles today

Stafford was recently interviewed on 92.9 The Game and he made a bold proclamation about Georgia wide receiver transfer Zachariah Branch. Stafford said that he worked out with Branch this offseason, and he was so impressed with him that he wants him in LA with him right now.

There really is no greater compliment then a veteran NFL quarterback saying that Branch is already good enough to play in the NFL. And while that is a huge deal for Branch, it's an even bigger deal for Georgia entering the 2025 season. If Stafford thinks Branch could play in the NFL today, then that means he believes Branch could dominate all of his competition at Georgia this season.

Branch comes from USC after a successful two year career with the Trojans. During his time at USC, Branch was able to rack up over 800 receiving yards while finding the end zone four times on offense. He also returned a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown during his freshman season as well.

Branch was one of the top players in the Transfer Portal this offseason, and it's comments like this from Stafford that make it clear why he was so sought after. Obviously no ranking or statement from a legend like Stafford matters if Branch doesn't perform during the season, but all signs point to him being one of the most electric players that has played at Georgia in the Kirby Smart era.
