Miami shocked the college football world last offseason when they convinced Carson Beck to withdraw his name from the NFL Draft, leave Georgia and transfer to their program. A big reason he did so was because of a substantial NIL offer that he couldn't say no to.

This strategy clearly worked well for the Hurricanes because Beck has led Miami to the National Championship game, so it isn't surprising that they are trying to do the same exact thing this offseason with another star quarterback.

Miami is trying to pull off another Carson Beck style transfer

Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson has already declared for the NFL Draft this summer. Miami however isn't going to let him go to the draft without a fight. According to reports, Miami has made an offer to Simpson that he might not be able to say no to as they offered him $6.5 million to stay in college for one more season and transfer to their program.

This is the exact same scenario that played out with Beck and Georgia last year. Beck announced that he was heading to the NFL Draft only for him to withdraw his name and transfer to Miami because of a massive NIL offer. Since that worked out so well for Miami this season they are now hoping they can have the same success with Simpson next year.

Miami isn't the only school going after Simpson as both Tennessee and Ole Miss have offered him $4 million. But Miami's offer is much larger so if he does decide to stay in college it's hard to picture him going anywhere other than the Hurricanes.

While this decision doesn't directly impact Georgia, it would be nice to see Simpson stay in the draft. These type of offers when players already declared for the NFL Draft feel wrong, so hopefully Simpson can set the precedent that Beck didn't and decline any and all offers.
