In case you haven't heard, Georgia football now has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports. This came after Kirby Smart was able to pick up a commitment from four-star Chase Linton on Wednesday.

Now that Georgia has the top class in the country, the goal is to stay there for the second year in a row. This will be extremely difficult to do because Smart and his staff will have to add more highly ranked recruits to stay ahead of the teams directly behind them. UGA also has to avoid their current commits flipping to a new school as well.

There aren't many players in Georgia's 2025 class where it feels like there is a chance of that happening, but one of UGA's five-star commits is now being targeted by an interesting new school.

5-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson receives offer from Michigan

Five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson is the No. 9 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Gibson has been committed to Georgia since June and has seemed locked in with the program ever since.

However, Gibson was just offered by Michigan on Friday, which is definitely something worth monitoring.

Michigan may not seem like much of a threat at first considering they are a miserable 5-5 so far this season, but the Wolverines are currently the hottest team on the recruiting trail. On Thursday night, Michigan completed their flip of the No.1 overall player in the country from LSU in five-star QB Bryce Underwood.

As everyone knows, momentum is a real thing in recruiting. So this news is something that could impact every program in the country because a lot of players will be attracted to the idea of playing with the best player in the country. And it appears Michigan is hoping Gibson falls into that category.

So far there is no indication that Gibson has any interest in Michigan, but Georgia fans better hope it stays that way. The Bulldogs have an insanely talented defensive line class, so if they are able to keep it in tact then the defensive trenches are going to be in a great place in Athens for the foreseeable future.
