Throughout the last few years Georgia fans have had their issues with both football coordinators. Glenn Schumann’s defense struggled at times during the 2024 season, and Mike Bobo’s offense lacked a spark in the biggest moments two years ago as well.
But both Schumann and Bobo put all that negativity to bed after having great seasons this last year. In fact, Kirby Smart thinks they did so well that he gave both of them raises heading into next season.
Mike Bobo, Glenn Schumann given raises for outstanding performance
Last year Schumann was making a lot more money than Bobo was. That however is changing as they will make the same amount of money going forward thanks to their raises Smart gave them back in January.
According to 247Sports, Bobo received a whopping $700,000 raise that will increase his pay to $2.2 million. Schumann’s raise was a lot smaller (only $100,000) that also takes his pay to $2.2 million as well.
Bobo received a lot of backlash during the 2024 season to the point where people wanted him fired. He however bounced back all last season as he led one of the top offenses in the country behind Gunner Stockton. So this raise is more than deserved.
Schumann on the other hand was great during the 2024 season, but his defense really struggled at the start of last season. But his group turned a corner halfway through the year and became one of the top units in the country.
Schumann is a top candidate to leave and become a head coach in the coming years, so this raise will hopefully convince him to stay in Athens for a little longer.
Georgia’s future is bright with these two running the offense and defense, and these raises will help ensure they stick around for as long as possible.
