Mike Bobo is running circles around Oregon in pursuit of Jared Curtis

The Jared Curtis sweepstakes is officially coming to an end. The No. 1 quarterback in the country will announce his decision on Monday, May 5, and Georgia is one of two finalists along with Oregon.

Typically at this point in a recruitment everyone knows where the recruit is likely heading. That however is not the case with Curtis, who has kept his recruitment very close to his chest.

But there are a lot of reasons for Georgia fans to be hopeful as his commitment date approaches, with proximity to his home in Tennessee being one of the biggest. This fact is coming into play as his recruitment winds down as Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo is using that to his advantage.

According to multiple reports, Bobo traveled to Tennessee on Wednesday to visit Curtis as his commitment date closes in. This visit however was matched by Oregon who has a visit of their own scheduled for May 4, one day before he announces his commitment. But this is where Georgia and Bobo begin to flex their recruiting muscles.

Georgia apparently wasn’t a fan of the Ducks getting the final visit with Curtis before he commits, so Bobo will reportedly visit Curtis May 4 as well, right after Oregon’s visit takes place. If that doesn’t show how badly Georgia wants Curtis then nothing will.

Time will tell if this final push is enough for Georgia to end up on top in Curtis’s recruitment, but this is just another reason to be very excited about their chances. While no official prediction has been logged yet, On3’s Steve Wiltfong is leaning in favor of Georgia right now.

Be sure to pay close attention late Monday afternoon, because that is when the world will find out if Georgia is bringing in the top ranked quarterback in the country in the 2026 class.
