More salt was rubbed in Georgia’s wound after losing 5-star Jared Curtis

Georgia will always be left wondering what could have been if Jared Curtis stuck with UGA.

It’s been a little over a week since five-star quarterback Jared Curtis turned his back on Georgia and flipped to Vanderbilt. While this loss was about as bad as it can get, Georgia has been able to get over it after winning the SEC and being in a great position to make a run at a National Championship.

But no matter how hard Georgia may try, they just can’t avoid the discourse surrounding losing his commitment. And OutKick media did their best to rub more salt in Georgia’s wounds over losing Curtis’s commitment.

Georgia can’t get away from the Jared Curtis hype

OutKick is claiming that Curtis may be the best quarterback prospect out of high school of all time. Now that may be a stretch because this same statement is made about nearly every No. 1 QB in each recruiting class, but their point still stands. Curtis flipping to Vanderbilt was a big loss for Georgia, and there’s no denying that.

Even if that is true though, Georgia more than likely will be just fine. Two years ago a nearly identical loss occurred when five-star Dylan Raiola ditched Georgia and flipped to Nebraska right before the Early Signing Period. That was yet another big recruiting loss, but does anyone know what has happened during Raiola’s two collegiate seasons? Gerogia won back-to-back SEC titles and made the playoff each year while Nebraska hasn’t been able to find their footing with him. Raiola also appears like he is going to enter the Transfer Portal as well.

While it is impossible to deny how big losing Curtis was, Georgia will continue to be Georgia and will keep dominating the SEC. Will Curtis be able to do the same at Vanderbilt? Only time will tell, but he does have to make a trip to Athens next season and the Bulldogs will be ready to get their revenge.
