Georgia did not play their best game against Georgia Tech on Friday, but they thankfully were still able to emerge with a 16-9 victory. Georgia's defense deserves a mjority of the credit as UGA's offense struggled to get anything going throughout most of the game. But running back Nate Frazier arguably deserves more credit than anyone else.

Frazier ran for over 100 yards against Georgia Tech with a majority of those yards coming in the first half. This performance on its own was massive, but it was even bigger for two important reasons.

Nate Frazier came up big when Georgia needed him most

Gunner Stockton and Georgia's passing attack did not have an answer for Georgia Tech's defense. Stockton threw for just 70 yards and one touchdown while also throwing a critical interception early in the game. So Georgia needed every bit of Frazier's output just to make up for the bad game they were having through the air.

On top of making up for their struggles throwing the ball, Frazier also had to make up for Chauncey Bowens absence. Bowens has been Georgia's most reliable running back this season, but he missed his second game in a row after suffering an injury against Texas. So instead of Georgia's normal one-two punch out of the backfield, Frazier had to do most of the work on his own.

But Frazier answered the call when Georgia needed him most and he helped propel UGA to their eighth straight victory over the Georgia Tech.

Frazier appears to have now taken over the No. 1 running back spot on Georgia's depth chart as he once again is showing that he is one of the top running backs in the country. And if Georgia's passing game can get back to the level they were playing at, there isn't a team in the country that can beat this team.
