Kellan Hall is a the nation’s No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2028 recruiting class, and he recently gave an update on where things stand with Georgia. In his own words he said that Georgia is a serious contender, and Kirby Smart has been making sure he knows how important he is to them as well.

A few weeks ago the contact period with 2028 recruits began. Apparently Georgia was the first team to call him, and that could go a long way in helping Hall increase his interest in Georgia. So far his interest is high, and the Bulldogs will look to keep it that way throughout his recruitment.

5-star Kellan Hall proclaims Georgia as one of his top schools

Georgia made their intentions clear with Hall when they were the first school to contact him, and now he is reciprocating that interest by naming Georgia one of his top contenders. They will be happy to be in this position at this point in his recruitment, but with a recruit like Hall there is a long ways to go still.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings he is the No. 2 overall player in the country. He also is the top ranked defensive lineman and the No. 1 player from his home state of Kentucky too. He has many of the big name schools recruiting him as you would imagine, but right now 247Sports believes Kentucky, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Oklahoma have separated themselves from the pack. Georgia however appears to be in that group after this statement from Hall.

The next step for Georgia will be to get him on campus for a game this fall. That visit isn’t on the books yet, but there’s likely a good chance of it happening since Georgia is a serious contender in his eyes now.

Kellan Hall could help take Georgia’s 2028 class to the next level

Georgia’s 2028 recruiting class is already ranked No. 5 in the country, but a commitment from Hall could help Georgia contend for the No. 1 class ranking.

Right now the Bulldogs have two commits in their 2028 class. Those two commits however are both highly ranked recruits as Asa Wall is a top 10 tight end in the country and quarterback Jayden Wade is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2028 class. That is a solid foundation Georgia can build on, and Wall would be able to add to that even more.

Georgia is arguably in an even better position with Kevin Hartsfield who is the No. 1 running back in the 2028 class. He recently said that it will be hard to say no to Georgia, so he is someone who could end up in the Bulldogs’ recruiting class too.

Anything is possible in recruiting nowadays, so until a player commits to Georgia it’s impossible to predict what will happen. Georgia however at the very least has a chance to land Hall, and with 16 months to go in his recruitment there is nothing wrong with that.
