National media is doubting Georgia football, again
People just never learn when it comes to Georgia football. Everyone picked against Georgia a few weeks ago when they played at Texas, and we all know how that worked out for them, so one would think they would have learned their lesson and continue to pick Georgia to win this season.
Georgia also hasn't lost to a team not named Alabama in over four years, so that fact alone makes it shocking why someone would predict Georgia to lose to Ole Miss on Saturday. Maybe someone should prove they can beat Georgia before picking against the Bulldogs?
But certain members of the media are still choosing to doubt the Bulldogs, which surely won't backfire against them Saturday night.
Josh Pate picks Ole Miss to win
Josh Pate is one of the most respected members of the college football media. The CBS Sports analyst has his own show that airs three days a week that is worth the listen. So knowing how Pate operates, he does not mean any disrespect when he did this, but Pate shockingly predicted Ole Miss to upset Georgia this weekend.
To be fair to Pate, Georgia is only 2.5 point favorites, so Ole Miss winning as that small of an underdog would not be surprising. The Rebels are also the home team, which again is even more reason to think they could knock off Georgia.
But Georgia has been the class of the SEC, and that hasn't changed this season. So they deserve some respect until someone not named Alabama can beat them.
On second thought, maybe this is something that Georgia fans shouldn't be upset about. Clearly all the predictions for them to lose to Texas helped because the Longhorns had no chance in that game. So maybe this is the extra motivation Kirby Smart and Georgia need to be able to go to Ole Miss and bring another big road victory back to Athens.
