The future of the quarterback position is up in the air in Athens. Georgia football and Kirby Smart are set to start a new QB under center this coming season, but the Bulldogs don’t have a player at the position that everyone knows is the future of the position.

Georgia is attempting to change that with the 2026 recruiting class as they were named a finalist along with Oregon for Jared Curtis, who is the No. 1 QB in the country. But Georgia can’t put all their eggs in one basket, so they are also recruiting a few other quarterbacks as well.

This includes a very talented prospect from Texas that Georgia just offered a scholarship to this week.

4-star QB Bowe Bentley

Bowe Bentley is a four-star quarterback from Celina, TX. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Bentley is the No. 151 overall player in the country. Bentley also is the No. 10 QB in the 2026 class and the No. 18 overall player from Texas as well.

As mentioned, Georgia is after many other quarterbacks in the country, but Smart and his staff are clearly looking to get involved with more QBs, and Bentley is the next quarterback they have identified. There are a lot of reasons as to why UGA is showing interest in Bentley, but the fact that he scored 63 touchdowns last season and completed about 70 percent of his passes is potentially the biggest reason why.

Many other schools have already noticed Bentley as well as he has collected 29 total scholarship offers so far. Schools such as Ohio State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Florida State and Georgia Tech have also offered Bentley as well and are Georgia’s biggest competition.

While there are other QBs that Georgia may prefer to land before Bentley, which includes Curtis, Bentley clearly would be a great player to add to Georgia’s recruiting class. So it will be interesting to see how much Smart and his staff recruit Bentley going forward.
