Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi's battle to win the starting quarterback job is the biggest storyline as Georgia football enters fall camp. No decision has been made as to who the starter will be, but a new clue was discovered during Georgia's first fall practice on Thursday that hints at Stockton being the leader for the job.

Gunner Stockton led QB drills during Georgia's first practice

The media had a chance to sit in and watch a portion of Georgia's practice on Thursday. During this time it was Stockton who was the first quarterback to go through each drill with Puglisi following him second in line.

It is worth mentioning that the quarterbacks did not do any exciting drills while the media were present which was likely a calculated decision by Kirby Smart. The QB room spent most of their time working with the running backs while the media were present, but it was still clear that Stockton was the first quarterback to take each rep.

This is a very clear sign that Stockton is the leader in Georgia's quarterback competition. In fact, there is a chance he's already won the job internaly without the public being told that it is official.

It will be interesting to see how long Smart drags this competition out. There are a lot of benefits to doing so as it will cause both players to work as hard as possible each and every day. On top of that, the less information Georgia can give out to their future opponents the better.

Until Smart makes his final decision public, anything is still possible. But as it stands today, it would be a huge surprise if Stockton didn't win the starting job based on this new clue and the fact that veteran tight end Oscar Delp essentially admitted on Thursday that he wants Stockton to be his quarterback this season.
