Georgia football’s annual G-Day has come and gone, and this marks the end of UGA’s spring practice schedule. Overall, the Bulldogs scrimmage at G-Day went extremely well. A lot of players shined and showed a lot of improvement, which is the one thing everyone wants to see most during G-Day.
Another thing people keep a close eye on at G-Day is injuries. Nobody wants to see them happen during a glorified scrimmage, so the hope is Georgia can escape without anything major happening. And while three Bulldogs were injured during the scrimmage, none of them ended up being that serious.
But Georgia fans were also watching closely to see which players didn’t suit up for G-Day as this would show who might be dealing with an injury. One of those players who wasn’t accounted for on G-Day was corner Ondre Evans.
No one knew where Evans was and no media member asked Kirby Smart about him specifically, but word came out Wednesday night that he was injured and has undergone a successful surgery.

We now know why that was the case, as the redshirt freshman announced he underwent ACL surgery on Wednesday.https://t.co/uVzy0qTSKj
Ondre Evans underwent successful ACL surgery
According to multiple reports, Evans has undergone a successful ACL surgery earlier this offseason that prevented him from competing at G-Day.
Evans is a former four-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting class who is yet to see any snaps at Georgia. That means he still has four years of eligibility, which is exciting to know that a player of his caliber still has a lot of time left in his career.
This injury however will be a major setback as it typically takes quite some time to come back from an ACL injury.
The severity of this injury is unknown, so it is unclear when Evans could return to the practice field. But hopefully that is sooner rather than later because before this injury he projected to be a solid depth piece for Georgia’s secondary this season.
