Georgia has been one of the most successful programs on the recruiting trail ever since Kirby Smart became head coach. The latest example of that was seen when five-star running back Kemon Spell announced his commitment to Georgia earlier this week.

But Georgia isn't immune to losing recruitments. Programs from around the country are able to win some of these battles over Georgia on a somewhat regular basis.

So what does it take to actually beat Georgia on the recruiting trail? Considering how dominant they have been it likely takes a gargantuan effort to pull it off.

Thankfully a general manager from the ACC recently explained what it takes to beat Georgia for a recruit.

It takes a massive offer to beat Georgia on the recruiting trail

This ACC rep explained what it takes to beat Georgia very simply. They need to not only have a higher NIL offer than Georgia, but they need to have a significantly higher offer for that recruit to choose them over Georgia.

This means that recruits are willing to take a little bit of a paycut to play for Georgia because they know that they will be developed the right way in Athens. They know that if they want to compete for championships every year and get prepared for the NFL that Georgia is the place to be.

This past recruiting cycle Georgia saw first hand that schools are significantly outspending them to beat them in recruitments. In fact, the three recruits who got paid the most were all thought to be heading to Georgia until a massive offer from another school was made.

So it's clear that Georgia is doing something right. In a day and age where so many players just want to make as much money as possible, Smart is finding a way to win recruitments based on his track record of winning and sending players to the NFL.

And that is the exact way that Smart wants to run his program.
