Tuesday was a big day in the NFL. Every team had to make their final roster cuts to get their team down to 53 players, so that means a lot of players were cut and came short of accomplishing their NFL dreams.

Former Georgia football players were not immune to these cuts. There were some players like Chaz Chambliss who did make the final roster on their teams, but countless Bulldogs unfortunately did not receive this same news. In fact, 15 Bulldogs were cut over the past few days and now face a lot of uncertainty about what their future might hold.

What does the future hold for Georgia’s cut players?

It’s unclear what will happen next to these 15 players after being cut. Some may get signed to practice squads which will keep their NFL dreams alive while some may have to give up football altogether. Regardless, Kirby Smart shared a message to these players on Tuesday reminding them that their life isn’t over and they can still keep chasing their dreams.

“The message to them is simple, football does not define who you are,” Smart shared via dawgnation.com. “I remember being lost in that moment. You got to pick yourself back up, get to work, and decide what you want to do if the football’s over. That’s a critical time in kids’ lives when they have to pick up and move on.”

Everyone always gets wrapped up in the NFL’s countless success stories, but then there are days like Tuesday where people are reminded how tough a business the NFL truly is. Thankfully for these Bulldogs they came through a system at Georgia that taught them how to face adversity, so they will be ready to tackle whatever is next in their life whether that is on the football field or in a different venture.
