No. 1 QB Jared Curtis gives Georgia a massive recruiting update

The recruitment for the No. 1 quarterback in the country will always be one of the most wild. And that is most certainly the case with Jared Curtis.

Curtis is a five-star QB from Nashville, TN who is the No. 1 QB in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also is the No. 1 player from Tennessee and the No. 2 overall player in the country.

Curtis recently announced who his top five schools were, and he named Georgia, Oregon, Auburn, Alabama and South Carolina. Most assumed this is where the drama in his recruitment would end until he took official visits to each school later this summer, but On3's Hayes Fawcett shared a massive update Saturday afternoon.

Jared Curtis is down to Georgia and Oregon

According to Fawcett, Curtis is narrowing his recruitment down to just Oregon and Georgia. This move is very surprising because of how recently he announced who his top five schools are, but the Ducks and UGA were always the two teams who experts stated were the teams to beat. So this update maybe isn't all that surprising after all.

As mentioned, both Georgia and Oregon have been discussed as the teams to beat in recent weeks, but the latest report from Rivals this past week stated that Georgia is the leader right now.

Even if that is what Rivals thinks, this recruitment can still go either way. Both Georgia and Oregon are two of the best programs in the country right now with some of the most resources as well, and they both will surely do everything they can to get Curtis to commit to their program.

Curtis did commit to Georgia football back in 2024, but he unfortunately backed away from that commitment at the end of the year. But Kirby Smart and his staff were able to land his commitment once, so the expectation is that they will be able to do it again.
