Georgia football earned a commitment from the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class when five-star QB Jared Curtis committed to the Bulldogs. So now that Curtis is Georgia's quarterback for this class, UGA can now turn their attention to the 2027 class in search of another elite signal caller.

One quarterback that has stood out to Georgia is Elijah Haven, who is the top ranked played in the 2027 class according to 247Sports. So it's clear why he is someone Georgia will be interested in, and they made their interest official on June 1 when they officially offered him.

But as it stands today, it doesn't seem like Haven has shown much interest in the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, it's one of Georgia's biggest rivals who have been standing out the most to him.

“Florida has been one of those consistent contacts," Haven shared via athlonsports.com. “The coaches there … I get the feel I can definitely see myself playing at Florida. They’ve been on me hard and have made sure I know I’m one of their priority guys.”

Florida has a substantial lead over Georgia for top ranked QB

Based on the above quote from Haven, it's clear that Florida is one of the teams that currently leads for Haven. Other teams mentioned in the above report as well are Ohio State and LSU. But the team who On3 has leading for Haven is the Michigan Wolverines, who are given a 45.8 perent chance to win this recruitment.

The bad news for Georgia is that no recruiting sites or experts are even talking about Georgia in this recruitment right now, meaning that they might not stand much of a chance. This however shouldn't be surprising because of the commitment from Curtis in the 2026 class. It wouldn't be surprising to find out that Haven isn't interested in Georgia because Curtis is the quarterback of the future in Athens as he will want to go to a school where he is their version of what Curtis is to Georgia.

The lack of interest right now likely won't stop Georgia's pursuit of Haven, but UGA fans shouldn't get their hopes up in this battle because of the commitment Georgia already holds from Curtis.
