Oregon and Georgia have quickly become major rivals on the recruiting trail. Not only are they battling it out for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, but they also appear to be the top two teams for five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who is the No. 1 player in the country.
Cantwell recently gave Georgia some great news as he pushed his commitment date back two weeks to May 13 so he could make one final visit to Georgia on the 10th. That announcement was coupled with On3 insider Steve Wiltfong logging an official prediction for Cantwell to commit to Georgia.
While this was all great news, there was one more major hurdle for Georgia to get over before Cantwell's commitment, an official visit to Oregon.
That visit took place this past weekend, and Cantwell took to social media to express how much he loved his visit.
Man. That was a blast.

Thank you to Coach Lanning, Coach Terry & the rest of the Law Firm, and everyone else that spent time with me this weekend.#ScoDucks❔#NSGB pic.twitter.com/U0ktxdjJLl
Oregon is a still a problem for Georgia in their pursuit of Cantwell
The above post clearly shows that Cantwell is still heavily considering Oregon in his recruitment. The already mentioned Wiltfong also shared another quote from Cantwell after this visit that is scary for UGA to see as well.
"They want me to play football and throw for them and do so at an extremely high level with great coaching and all the resources I could ever need to succeed.”
It was "a special couple days" at Oregon for the On3 Industry's No. 1 recruit Jackson Cantwell and his family.

What does this mean for Georgia's chances?
At this point it's impossible to know if this final visit to Oregon will change anything for Georgia or not. This visit has been on the books for awhile now, so the fact that it happened in the first place isn't concerning. But these quotes from Cantwell cast a cloud of doubt surrounding how good of a position Georgia is in.
However, the Bulldogs still have the last visit for Cantwell which is scheduled to take place on May 10. Wiltfong also hasn't flipped his prediction off of Georgia either. So this might just be the case of Cantwell being thankful for Oregon showing interest in him.
At the end of the day, it isn't possible to be 100 percent sold on Cantwell committing to Georgia until he actually does it. So nothing he or anyone else says should change the hope (and also the worries) that Georgia has in this recruitment.
