Recruiting in college football is extremely difficult to follow nowadays as players never feel 100 percent locked in even after committing to a school. That is even the case with some of Georgia football's commits as four-star defensive back Jontavius Wyman recently flipped his commitment from UGA to Miami (FL).
But all Georgia can do moving forward is focus on the players still in their class and those they are pursuing on the recruiting trail.
One of those players is four-star safety Zech Fort, who is the Bulldogs' top commit in their 2026 class. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 104 overall player in the country as well as a top 10 safety in his class . Considering how highly ranked Fort is, it's not surprising to hear that some other schools are still targeting him even though he's been committed to Georgia since January.
But it looks like those efforts were for nothing as Fort has officially shut his recruitment down.
"My recruitment is shut down. I couldn't see myself anywhere else."

4-star Zech Fort is locked in with Georgia
According to multiple reports, Notre Dame was the team applying the most pressure on Fort to flip away from Georgia. And while the Irish certainly have a good argument as to why players should go there, it wasn't good enough for Fort as he is not interested in any team other than Georgia.
So even though some might argue that Fort's recruitment still isn't over until he signs at the end of the year, it is impossible for Fort to be more locked in with Georgia than he already is. So of all of UGA's current commits, Fort is the one that Georgia fans should feel the most confident in.
And that is a really big deal because the potential Fort has is sky high.
