Ohio State fan shares one absurd reason why 5-star Kemon Spell should ditch Georgia

An Ohio State fan thinks five-star running back Kemon Spell should decommit from Georgia. They believe that Georgia isn't paying Spell enough and that he should explore other schools who would pay him more.

This is coming off the heels of Ohio State losing five-star running David Gabriel-Georges to Tennessee. The Vols are paying him $2 million for his freshman year alone, and Georgia is only paying Spell $750,000.

This is a noteworthy discrepancy because Spell is the No. 1 running back in the country and Gabriel-Georges is the No. 2 back. So this fan just can't understand why Spell would take far less money even though he is the better player. They however are failing to grasp how unimportant NIL money is to some players and that Georgia is winning championships by adding as many of those players as possible.

On paper it is a bit crazy for a better player to take half as much money as a player ranked lower than them. Everyone loves money, so why not try to get as much as you can when you don't know what the future holds?

That is a fair way to look at things, but if a player feels that way then Kirby Smart isn't interested. He wants players who care about football far more than money, and he has built the No. 1 program in the NIL era by doing that.

This Ohio State fan just can't seem to grasp that. That however might be the best thing possible for Georgia. The more schools that disagree with Georgia's strategy the better because how they handle NIL has proven to be far more successful than how Ohio State or any other program does things.

Spell wants to be a Bulldog. He knows that he is getting paid a lot of money and that Georgia will pay him more if he earns it on the field. Spell is coming to Georgia to win championships, and if the money follows then so be it. But he is focused on becoming the best player that he can be, and Georgia gives him the best chance at that.

Georgia will always be better without players like David Gabriel-Georges

Gabriel-Georgia is a very good player. He will more than likely go to Tennessee and have a phenomenal career and make a lot of money while doing it. He had every right to handle his recruitment how he did, but he will never be a player Georgia wants.

Gabriel-Georges wanted as much attention as he could get throughout his recruitment. He wanted it to be all about him instead of being all about Tennessee. He also wanted as much money as any school would be willing to give him. Those are three attributes Smart has no interest in at Georgia, and those are three attributes Spell does not have.

Spell kept his recruitment close to his chest. Georgia fans didn't even know he was going to even commit to them until right before it happened. He also has made his commitment all about Georgia ever since joining their recruiting class by hyping up so many other players when they commit to Georgia as well.

And best of all, he doesn't care about how much money he makes. He could reopen his recruitment and find a school to pay him just as much as Gabriel-Georges is making, but he hasn't done that and he doesn't look like he ever will.

He wants to be a Georgia Bulldog, and he is the perfect player that Smart is looking for.
