Ohio State has done a lot of talking ahead of their opening game in the College Football Playoff. First it was defensive back Caleb Downs who said he hopes to face Georgia in the semifinals. Now it’s another Buckeye saying that they want to be the first team to win back-to-back national titles.
Georgia fans quickly responded bragging about how UGA just did that a few years ago, but OSU has a chance to do that for the first time in their program’s history.

Ohio State is the current betting favorite to win it all, but Georgia may have a chance to prevent the Buckeyes from repeating.
Georgia can end Ohio State’s chance of accomplishing a program first
Ohio State is one of the most successful programs in the history of college football. They have won nine National Championships in the history of their program, but they are yet to win back-to-back national titles.
Georgia hasn’t won that many titles in their history, but they did win back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022. UGA is also the last team to pull off that feat as well, and the last thing they want is another program to accomplish it just a few years after them.
Ohio State has a very good chance to win their second straight title this season after their 12-1 season earned them the 2-seed in the playoff. However, Georgia could be the team to knock them out of the playoff if both teams advance to the semifinals.
Georgia has a tough opponent in Ole Miss that they need to get through first before they can play Ohio State. The Buckeyes also have to beat a scrappy Miami team next week as well. But both Georgia and OSU are predicted to win, so there is a great chance that UGA will have an opportunity to prevent Ohio State from repeating as National Champions.
