Four-star safety Adryan Cole is one of the top players in the country in the 2027 recruiting class. Georgia football has been a team consistently in contact with Cole throughout his recruitment, but 247Sports reported on Saturday that a new team has caught up to Georgia and is standing out to Cole.

Ohio State and Georgia are battling for top Peach State safety

About a month ago, Georgia was named the early favorite in Cole's recruitment. Georgia at this point is still one of the leaders in his recruitment, but 247Sports has reported that Ohio State has caught up to the Bulldogs.

Schools like LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami (FL) and Georgia Tech have been putting in a lot of effort in Cole's recruitment as well, but it's UGA and the Buckeyes who are out in front right now for one of the best players from the Peach State.

Cole recently spoke with Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports, and he provided a small update on where things stand with Georgia.

"Georgia, they always come," Cole shared via 247sports.com. "Really, Coach T-Rob [co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson]. Coach Coop [director of recruiting David Cooper]. They just want me to stay in-state, be the next up," Cole said. "It's a great thing, you know. It's like KJ. They just want me to stay home."

Cole also discussed what he has been hearing from Ohio State and what he loves about the Buckeyes.

"Ohio State, definitely. After the visit I took, it's just a great, great feeling from their coaching staff. They made me and my family feel comfortable," Cole continued. "They told me everything I want to hear. Really, just Columbus was a great place to be around. Just seeing that city, big, it's a lot of opportunities out there."

Cole's recruitment still has over a year to go, but as of now it is looking like a heavyweight battle between Georgia and Ohio State is brewing. And whenever these two blue blood programs battle it out, anything is possible.
