Georgia fans may not know this, but Ole Miss has been playing their second string quarterback for most of the season. Starter Austin Simmons suffered an ankle injury earlier this season that has kept him sidelined for four games now, and backup Trinidad Chambliss was forced to take over the Ole Miss offense in his place.
Chambliss has obviously done well for the Rebels so far as Ole Miss has remained undefeated this season, but Ole Miss is anxiously awaiting for the moment Simmons returns and takes control of the offense again. There was some hope that could occur this weekend against Georgia, but the lastest injury update indicates that Chambliss is likely to earn his fifth start of the season against Georgia.
It’s currently trending toward Trinidad Chambliss starting again for No. 5 Ole Miss at QB heading into the Rebels game against No. 9 Georgia, sources tell @CBSSports.

Transfer QB set to earn fifth start of Ole Miss career vs Georgia
Chambliss is a transfer quarterback from Ferris State who is a division two school from Michigan. Ferris State has been the No. 1 program in division two the last few years as they have won National Championships in 2021, 2022 and 2024, but SEC football is a completely different beast.
So far Chambliss has been unaffected since taking over the Rebels offense, in fact he has been electric. This season Chambliss has completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,286 yards, seven touchdowns and just one interception. On top of that he has also run the ball for 281 yards and three more touchdowns as well.
Also on Chambliss's resume is a few quality wins against SEC competition. He earned his first victory as a starter against Arkansas and even has a nice win over LSU as well. But Saturday is the first time he will be the starting quarterback in a road game at Ole Miss, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the Sanford Stadium atmosphere.
Georgia is favored to win by 7.5 points now, so it's clear Vegas does not believe in Chambliss or Ole Miss. But even if that is the case, Chambliss is a great player who Georgia is going to have to be ready to battle all game long.
