One fact about Georgia that could eventually catch up to them

If Georgia isn’t careful one fact about them could eventually cause them to lose another game soon.

Georgia football is entering the final third of their season with an impressive 7-1 record and top five ranking in the AP Poll. While no one should be complaining about being 7-1, it has not been very pretty up to this point.

The Bulldogs have had three easy wins so far this season, but those came against the worst teams on their schedule in Austin Peay, Marshall and Kentucky. Georgia’s four other wins however all came in extremely close games, and most of the time they needed a big play to go their way in order to win.

And that fact is a scary thing because relying on one big play to win in the SEC is a recipe for disaster.

Georgia’s luck could run out soon if they keep playing close games

All four of Georgia’s close wins could have gone either way, and that is concerning because the Bulldogs could very easily have a few more losses this season. But when looking at three of those games in particular it is even more nerve wracking because if one singular play didn’t go their way Georgia likely would’ve lost those games.

The play that luckily went Georgia’s way in UGA’s win over Florida on Saturday came in the final minutes of the game. Georgia was up 24-20 but DJ Lagway threw a deep pass to a wide open receiver that should have been an easy pitch and catch. But Lagway under threw the receiver and he luckily wasn’t able to make the play.

Georgia also had a little luck on their side against Tennessee this season because the Volunteers missed a game-winning field goal as time expired in regulation. UGA also had a play go their way against Auburn when Jackson Arnold fumbled on the one yard line.

Georgia was very lucky that all of these plays went their way because if they didn’t all three games likely would have ended in a loss. Thankfully that’s not how things played out, but if Georgia continues to flirt with fate it could bite them in the butt and ruin their chances of having a great season.
