Georgia's upcoming game this weekend against Florida is massive. The Bulldogs control their own destiny in making the SEC Championship game and College Football Playoff, but one more loss would make accomplishing both goals far more difficult.

Florida is a team that is capable of beating Georgia, but the Bulldogs are the favorite to win. That ultimately doesn't mean much, but if Georgia can be effective in the run game early it could be lights out for Florida once Gunner Stockton starts dominating with play action passes.

Mike Bobo needs to prioritize the run early vs Florida

Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo loves to run the ball. Sometimes fans think he does it a little too much, but on Saturday he needs to prioritize it the second the game begins.

Georgia's run game is strong enough to move the ball on anyone. Even without Chauncey Bowens, who is getting healthier by the way, the Bulldogs have three backs who are capable of making big plays whenever they touch the ball. Georgia however will benefit far more in the passing game if they establish the run first though.

Florida's defense will struggle mightily if Georgia is able to effectively incorporate play action passes. In order for them to work though they have to run the ball well because that will force Florida to stack the box to ensure they stop the run. Once they do that then Georgia's passing game will take off because not many teams can stop Gunner Stockton and his wide receivers in one-on-one coverage.

A comfortable Gunner Stockton is dangerous

Gunner Stockton has taken a big step forward with his arm this season. Sure he struggled against Auburn two weeks ago when he threw two interceptions, but outside of that game he has been magnificent.

He however is at his best when he is comfortable. Against Auburn you could tell he was a little uncomfortable after taking a big hit on the first play of the game and watching Auburn be more competitive than anyone expected, but he has been at his best when he is comfortable.

A quarterback's best friend is a solid run game. Any quarterback will drastically improve if they find themselves ahead of the chains versus getting behind the eight ball on every set of downs. A solid run game not only opens the playbook up more when it is effective, but it allows them to trick the defense with play action all game long.

Mike Bobo at times has let Stockton sling the ball around the field early in games this season, but after the Auburn game where he struggled throwing at times it might not be a bad idea to establish the run first. This will allow Stockton to get into the flow of the game while also setting up the passing game for more success as the game goes on.

So look for Bobo to call more runs early in the game even if fans think he already runs the ball too much.
