There are a lot of plays that Georgia can look back on that caused them to lose to Ole Miss. However, there is one that stands out above the rest.

No it isn't Georgia's failed fake punt, and it isn't the countless missed tackles on Trinidad Chambliss either. The final offensive play of the game for Georgia is the one that will haunt them forever because it ended up being the reason UGA lost this game.

The one play that cost Georgia against Ole Miss

After falling behind by 10 points Georgia made a miraculous comeback and even had a chance to score a touchdown with under a minute to play to take the lead. After losing a few yards on second down Georgia faced a third and goal from the six yard line. Georgia opted to throw the ball which fell to the ground incomplete.

No big deal, right? They can just kick a field goal to tie the game and try to win in overtime. Wrong. They did kick the field goal, but they left too much time for Chambliss and Ole Miss which they took advantage of as they marched down the field and kicked the game-winning field goal with seconds to play.

That however should have never happened. The play call on that third down was as bad as it gets because it allowed for an incompletion to occur. Ole Miss had zero timeouts left, and with a minute to play the last thing Georgia needed was an incompletion. They either needed a touchdown to win the game or a play that ended with the clock running.

So Georgia should have rolled Gunner Stockton out of the pocket to give him the option to throw or run. If an easy touchdown was there then he could throw it, but if not then he could run while making sure to stay in bounds. Even if he didn't score Georgia could have run the clock all the way down to about 15 seconds before kicking the tying field goal. This would have guaranteed overtime instead of giving Ole Miss enough time to win the game.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but a better play call in this moment could have won Georgia this game.
