Georgia offensive lineman Micah Morris is one of the many Bulldogs who expect to be selected at the NFL Draft this year. In fact, at times some have thought he could be a first round draft pick.
One anonymous NFL scout however isn't so sure about that as he explained why some teams are afraid of drafting him.
“I’ll be curious where he goes because there are not many guards and he’s got a lot of ability,” an anonymous scout said via espn.com. “But people are afraid of him.”
"He's probably a first-round talent who goes late Day 2 or early Day 3," the scout continued. "He should be a first-rounder based on the flashes on tape. But he's not."
Micah Morris is dropping in NFL mock drafts for no good reason
Morris tested extremely well at the NFL Combine this year. In fact, he helped set a Georgia Combine record with his impressive measurables. But good measurables can only take a player so far in the NFL.
This scout recognized that Morris is an elite talent, but he (and many other NFL teams) question his work ethic. That is an interesting thing to bring up because he was never known for being lazy at Georgia. On top of that, how would an NFL team even figure that out at this point?
Morris also dealt with an injury this past season as well, so teams may have some questions on if that injury will impact him throughout his career or not.
Even with all these questions surrounding him, this scout is confident that Morris will be taken at some point in the first few rounds of the draft. But if he does fall outside of the first round then one team will get extremely lucky because he has all the tools of being a long time starter in the NFL.
