One undrafted Bulldog has a chance to immediately see the field in the NFL

There is one former Georgia Bulldog who has a great chance to go from UDFA to starting receiver in 2026.

Before Zachariah Branch, there was Dillon Bell. Bell was the do-it-all guy for the Georgia Bulldogs in his four years at Georgia, but especially his sophomore and junior seasons. In fact, when Georgia faced countless injuries at running back in 2023, Bell even played the running back position and had a total of 25 carries for 157 yards that season.

Bell was also frequently used throughout his career in Athens to throw the football on trick plays. However, scouts did not pick up on him in this latest draft due to his short frame and lack of production in 2025, making him an undrafted free agent. However, the team he signed with might just give him an opportunity to rise quickly in a short amount of time.

What Dillon Bell to Minnesota Vikings means for his career

The Minnesota Vikings were one of the worst rated offenses in the NFL last season, ranking 28th in the league in total offense. However, four of their first five draft picks were all spent on defense. In fact, not a single draft pick went to wide receiver. Other than Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, who have both had their fair share of injury concerns, the wide receiver room is very open for competition. That is where Dillon Bell comes in.

In an offense that is lacking production, it can be huge for an offense to have a guy that can do a little bit of everything. Think of Minnesota utilizing Bell like San Francisco did Deebo Samuel. A do-it-all guy that can line up practically anywhere on the field. For a team that ranked so low in total production, this could be the very spark they needed.

As long as they do not make a splash free agency signing, and right now that looks highly unlikely, Minnesota will have an open competition for that slot receiver void left by Jalen Nailor. Right now, that spot can easily go to Bell. Even though he went undrafted, keep an eye out for Bell this summer. He could be making headlines with his performance in camp.
