Georgia football has been quietly making moves in the 2027 recruiting class while everyone's attention has been on the 2026 class. One of those moves was earning a commitment from four-star corner Donte Wright.
However, a new report from Rivals' Adam Gorney indicates that Oregon and a few other schools are still pursuing Wright even though he is committed to Georgia.
2027 four-star CB Donte Wright from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly committed to Georgia this summer and he's locked in with the Bulldogs.

But Oregon and others are still trying to persuade him.https://t.co/LOIzGYqnON pic.twitter.com/j6vHpEcG5l
Oregon keeping tabs with 4-star Georgia commit
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Wright is the No. 81 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 9 corner in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 9 player from his home state of California.
Considering Wright is from the 2027 class, UGA still has a long time they need to wait until he can sign with the program and officially become a Bulldog. This means Kirby Smart and his staff will have to continue to recruit him just like everyone else, especially when a team like Oregon comes calling.
Oregon is one of the few schools who is on Georgia's level across the country. The Bulldogs find themseleves up against the Ducks quite often on the recruiting trail, and Oregon has shown the ability to beat them from time to time.
But at the end of the day, Georgia fans shouldn't be too worried about Wright flipping to any other program just yet. He did just commit to Georgia on June 30, so it's rare for any player to change their mind and commit elsewhere this soon. Also, the above report doesn't indicate that Wright is even that interested in Oregon or the other schools that are keeping in touch with him.
So until word comes out that Wright is actually interested in these other schools, this is not a commitment that Georgia fans should waste their time worrying about.
