SEC fans may not want to admit it, but the Big Ten runs college football right now. The SEC still has a lot more depth than the Big Ten, but the northerners have had three different teams win the last three National Championships.

That stretch of success is hard to argue against.

A lot of teams in the SEC have been good enough to challenge those teams, but none have been able to overcome them. But for some reason Paul Finebaum believes a majority of the blame is on Kirby Smart and Georgia for failing to keep the SEC on top of the college football world.

Paul Finebaum’s latest opinion on Kirby Smart and Georgia makes no sense

Finebaum is a massive Georgia hater. Any chance he gets to unload a wild opinion about Georgia or Smart he will take. Even knowing that though, there is some truth to his statement.

The last three seasons have not been good enough at Georgia. They have had three really good teams which includes two SEC Championship winning squads and another that went 12-0, but all three teams failed to even win one playoff game.

Georgia has undeniably been the best team in the SEC the last three years, so they do deserve some blame for not taking down the Big Ten in the playoff the last three years.

But what about everyone else? What about Texas who has been the preseason favorite in the SEC the last two years? What about Alabama who has fallen off since Nick Saban left. LSU, Auburn and Florida have been below average for awhile now too, so why don’t they get any blame? Tennessee has had some good teams too, so what about their annual failure?

Georgia deserves partial blame for letting the Big Ten take control of college football, but they don’t deserve to be singled out like this. But knowing how much Finebaum doesn’t like Georgia it really isn’t surprising to see him put it all on Smart and the dawgs.
