There is a large debate in the college football world heading into next season involving Georgia football and Carson Beck. Everyone, especially UGA fans, want to know who will have the better season after Beck transferred to Miami last month, and everyone for the most part is torn regarding who will have in fact have the better year.

Unfortunately it will be another 10 months or so until we learn if Miami or Georgia has the better season, but that won't stop everyone from debating it all offseason. Even college football experts and reporters are getting involved in this debate, and ESPN's Paul Finebaum is the latest to share his opinion.

And Georgia fans will not like what he had to say.

“He (Beck) had so little to work with, the talent around him was so different than the year before, with Bowers and McConkey, that he just never could adapt, and he just didn’t look happy. Maybe learning to drive a Lamborghini just really overwhelmed him.”

Beck had plenty of talent at Georgia

This is a very interesting thing for Finebaum to say because it really isn't true. Sure Georgia had their issues this past season at wide receiver as UGA led the country in drops, but Beck didn't always help the offense last season either. There were multiple games where Beck had problems with turning the ball over himself and just being very inefficient with the ball. He also didn't seem like the best leader either.

So will these things be any better at Miami? It goes without saying that the Hurricanes receivers will likely drop the ball less next season, but Miami overall has a worse roster than Georgia. So if Beck is someone that needs to have elite talent around him to succeed then he might struggle once again next season.

Even after all of the drama unfolded with Beck's decision to transfer, Georgia's goals remain the same. Beating their rivals, winning the SEC, making the College Football Playoff and winning a National Championship. But Georgia fans may be adding a fifth goal for the 2025 season, having a better year than Beck and Miami.
