One of the top former Georgia football stars in the NFL is defensive tackle Jalen Carter. Carter may only be entering his third season in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he has already proven himself as one of the NFL's top defensive tackles.
In fact, ESPN just named Carter the No. 3 defensive tackle in the league entering the 2025 season. On top of that, an anonymous head coach had the following positive things to say about Carter as well.
"Young player with elite tools, elite instincts and game-changing play ability," an anonymous head coach shared via si.com. "Think the best is yet to come from him if he can keep his life in order. Has Hall of Fame-type ability and instincts."
Jalen Carter's NFL potential is through the roof
Carter began his NFL career in 2023 when he immediately became one of the top players on Philadelphia's defense. During his rookie season, Carter racked up 33 total tackles which included a whopping six sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Carter's production stayed high last season as he tallied 42 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. However, the highlight of his short career was the fact that he helped lead Philly to their Super Bowl Championship last season.
Carter finds himself in one of the best positions a young player can be in as the Eagles are projected to remain one of the top teams in the NFL. A lot of that is due to the handful of Bulldogs that are on Philadelphia's team, but Carter potentially is the best former Bulldog on their roster.
Carter being named the No. 3 defensive tackle in the NFL is more than fair, but every Georgia fan knows his potential could take him to the No. 1 spot in the near future. So don't be surprised if he is the No. 1 tackle in the league this time next year.
