On Friday, four-star offensive tackle Juan Gaston from Atlanta chose the Bulldogs over Oregon, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Alabama. Gaston is the No. 20 overall player in Georgia and is Kirby Smart’s 17th four-star commit in the 2025 recruiting class. Smart’s 23-player class is the No. 3 ranked group in the country.

Gaston is the fifth offensive lineman in the class and joined Jahzare Jackson as the only true offensive tackle commits. Jackson, a high school basketball player is the biggest player in the class at 6-foot-10 340 pounds, but at 6-foot-7 345 pounds, Gaston is in the same weight class.

Georgia has had a lot of success developing tall offensive tackles like Amarius Mims who was the No. 18 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Georgia misses on five-star recruiting target

Georgia’s 2025 recruit class features three five-stars, but Smart was still targeting a few other elite players to bring into the fold. That includes Jared Smith, a five-star edge rusher from Alabaster, Alabama who chose Auburn over USC, Florida State, Tennessee, and Georgia on Saturday.

The 6-foot-6 235-pound pass rusher fits Georgia’s ideal body type for the position with extreme length and a frame that could certainly carry extra weight. Auburn now has the No. 5 ranked class in 2025 with two five-star recruits. Hugh Freeze is attracting elite SEC talent to The Plains once again.

More: Anthony Edwards dominates Puerto Rico

On Saturday in France, Team USA men’s basketball finished off an undefeated group stage with a 104-83 win over Puerto Rico behind Anthony Edwards’s 26 points off the bench. Team USA will take on Brazil in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
