Georgia is entering the home stretch of their season and they still have all of their goals in front of them. But if they want a realistic chance to win the SEC and a National Championship they need to stay as healthy as they can.
Unfortunately a few injuries occurred during Georgia’s 35-10 win over Texas on Saturday which included star running back Chauncey Bowens. Bowens has been one of the biggest surprises of this season as he has been the most consistent running back for UGA, so losing him for any amount of time would be tough to overcome.
Unfortunately Kirby Smart’s update on his health doesn’t give much confidence that he will be back in time for Georgia’s next game.

Star Georgia RB in danger of missing Georgia’s next game
Smart didn’t give the most detailed update on Bowens’ health, but he did say that he is “day-to-day.” So there is a chance that he could play this weekend, but it sounds like there is a good chance he will be sidelined as well.
It may be wise though to have Bowens miss Georgia’s next game if he is struggling even just a little still because their opponent is Charlotte. The Bulldogs are favored by 44.5 points on Saturday, so they do not need Bowens to play in order to win this game.
So far this season Bowens has recorded 493 yards and six touchdowns. He had been the rushing leader for Georgia this year, but Nate Frazier’s nearly 200 yard performance against Mississippi State moved him past Bowens. But he is someone that Georgia can’t afford to lose after this week, so the best option might be for him to rest on Saturday in hopes that he will be fully healthy for the rest of the season.
