Semifinals

Next up is the semifinals, where things will begin to get interesting. In the above bracket, Georgia would take on No. 11 Alabama, No. 6 Texas or No. 3 Miami. This is a very interesting section of the bracket because all three teams could realistically make it to the semifinal, but the Longhorns may be slightly better than the Tide and Hurricanes, so Georgia would have a rematch on their hands in the semifinals.

Playing any team a second time in one season is a very scary thing. More often than not, the team that lost the first meeting ends up winning the second meeting (see Georgia's first national championship under Smart).

But this rematch would be different.

Georgia didn't just beat Texas earlier this season, they destroyed them. Sure the final score was only 30-15, but the Bulldogs' defense was dominant the entire game. If it wasn't for a wild overturn by the officials in the third quarter that gave Texas great field position, this could have been an even wider margin of victory for Georgia.

Sure Texas would likely play a lot better in this rematch, but Georgia would as well. Keep in mind that Georgia sill won on the road by 15 while Carson Beck threw three interceptions. So just like the Longhorns, Georgia could play a lot better as well in the rematch.

Prediction: Georgia wins 33-24
