Spring ball has come and gone which means fans are officially counting down the days until college football returns. For Georgia it is always an exciting time as the season approaches because expectations are always so high.
However, there is always the fear that the worst-case scenario could happen and Georgia doesn't have a very good season. That potential almost makes the anticipation even better though as Georgia hopes to cement themselves as they best team in the country.
So what is the best and worst-case scenario for Georgia this season? Let's dive in and see what could potentially happen this year.
Georgia football's best-case scenario
Georgia's best-case scenario is quite easy to come up with. The Bulldogs will once again enter the season as one of the top teams in the country, and even though they have a difficult schedule the best possible outcome this year is a perfect 12-0 regular season record.
On top of that, the best-case scenario would also see them win the SEC Championship game, earn the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff and win three playoff games en route to a perfect 16-0 National Championship season.
Is this likely to happen? Maybe not, but in Georgia's best-case scenario it is absolutely possible.
Georgia football's worst-case scenario
The last thing anyone probably wants to think about is Georgia's worst-case scenario, but this far out from the beginning of the season it is hard to not think about it.
After back-to-back seasons of winning the SEC and making the CFP, Georgia's worst-case scenario would see them fail to accomplish both. Failing to make the playoff may seem a bit harsh, but with the schedule Georgia faces it is possible.
Georgia's road games at Alabama and Ole Miss could very easily be losses. On top of that their home game against Oklahoma could be a loss as well. That already would give Georgia at best a 9-3 record which might keep them out of the playoff, but the cherry on top would be a devastating loss to Florida in Atlanta.
An 8-4 record would be impossible for fans to deal with, but unfortunately it is in the realm of possibility. Thankfully it isn't too likely as this would be Georgia's worst-case scenario this season.
