2. Outside Linebackers/EDGE Coach - Chidera Uzo-Diribe

Losses: Jalon Walker, Damon Wilson II, Chaz Chambliss, Samuel M’Pemba
Returnees/Additions: Gabe Harris Jr., Quintavius Johnson, Isaiah Gibson*, Darren Ikinnagbon*

No other position will lose as much of its productivity than Coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe’s outside linebacker group. Jalon Walker, Damon Wilson II and Chaz Chambliss accounted for 16 of the 18 sacks produced by edge defenders, and in terms of experience, the cupboards are bare.

Rising junior Gabe Harris Jr. now becomes Georgia’s most experienced edge defender, and will be thrust into the role of leader and tone setter. Harris appeared in all 13 games this past season for the Dawgs, mostly on 3rd downs as a pass rush specialist. In total, Harris had 14 tackles, 2 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in 2024.

Much like Coach Schumann, Coach Diribe will have his work cut out for him, as he tries to fill the immense void left by Walker’s NFL departure and Wilson’s surprising transfer to Missouri

So, what is the plan for Coach Diribe and his OLB group? Where will he find productivity and pressure? Does he get creative and move players around like they did with Walker and use them as edge rushers?

If history tells us anything, it tells us that the popular and talented fourth year coach will find the right mix of players and talent to get the job done.
